CR1: Writing Folio

The writing folio is used as part of the class participation score for term 1 assessment (10 marks out of 15).

If you have produced a comprehensive writing folio, you will be able to:

bulletshow your ability in understanding the theme of childhood and family
bulletshow your awareness of issues that are in the themes
bulletbe able to comprehend the texts used for the themes
bulletimprove your writing skills (practice essays)
bulletimproves listening skills (class discussion /oral presentation)
bulletincrease your critical thinking skills
bulletshow your ability of coming up with original ideas and not only ideas presented in class
bulletshow your class participation in written form

bulletNotes relating to themes, class discussion, readings on the childhood and family theme.

bulletoral presentations
bulletissues discussed in songs/ short stories
bulletfrom web discussions (optional)
bulletArticles: Thematic critical analysis
bulletgeneral summary relating to selected theme
bulletarticles can be taken from:

bulletA critical analysis on the issue relating to the theme
bulletthe critical analysis holds more marks than the general summary
bulletSongs & Short Stories
bulletPersonal reaction to the song or short story
bulletanswers to questions given in class or the web
bulletuse of additional songs /short stories that related to the ones discussed in class (optional)
bulletPersonal Reflection (optional)
bulletpersonal experience relating to the theme. Be critical of the issue and don't just tell a story

  Songs, short stories and personal reflective cannot be used for viva but information gained can  help enhance discussion or awareness of the issue / theme.

  1. All compulsory sections included
  2. One practice essay shown no outlines for others
  3. No original thought given to themes
  4. very little critical analysis of articles
  5. some study guides questions attempted
  6. no class discussions included
